OpenContrail driver
===================
Introduction
------------
The **OpenContrail** driver for the BGPVPN service plugin is designed to work
jointly with the `OpenContrail SDN controller`_.
OpenContrail proposes a `contrail installer`_ script which is similar to devstack,
and can be used to deploy a dev/test environment.
Limitations
-----------
* Clone that OpenContrail installer script::
VPN Type
~~~~~~~~
git clone git@github.com:Juniper/contrail-installer
The OpenContrail driver for the BGPVPN service plugin can create only L3 VPN
type. The L2 is not yet supported.
* Compile and run OpenContrail::
cd ~/contrail-installer
cp samples/localrc-all localrc (edit localrc as needed)
./contrail.sh build
./contrail.sh install
./contrail.sh configure
./contrail.sh start
Route Distinguishers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* Then clone devstack::
The OpenContrail driver for the BGPVPN service plugin does not permit
specifying `route distinguisher`_.
git clone git@github.com:openstack-dev/devstack
Router Association
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* A glue file is needed in the interim till it is upstreamed to devstack::
The OpenContrail driver for the BGPVPN service plugin does not support
`associations with routers`_. Only `network associations`_ are available for the
moment.
cp ~/contrail-installer/devstack/lib/neutron_plugins/opencontrail lib/neutron_plugins/
How to use ?
------------
* Use a sample ``localrc``::
On an Openstack Installation
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
cp ~/contrail-installer/devstack/samples/localrc-all localrc
[TBC (package installation + config)]
* add the following to enable the OpenContrail driver for the BGPVPN service plugin::
In devstack
~~~~~~~~~~~
NETWORKING_BGPVPN_DRIVER="BGPVPN:OpenContrail:networking_bgpvpn.neutron.services.service_drivers.opencontrail.opencontrail.OpenContrailBGPVPNDriver:default"
A `devstack plugin`_ can be used to setup an OpenContrail dev/test platform.
* Run stack.sh::
* Clone devstack:
./stack.sh
git clone git@github.com:openstack-dev/devstack
* Here a proposed devstack ``local.conf`` file which permits to deploy
OpenStack keystone, glance, nova, neutron/networking-bgpvpn and
compile/install all OpenContrail services and dependences:
.. code:: bash
[[local|localrc]]
