The only thing puzzling me is the change in commit 2fc2c43 where I've removed a check. Not sure why it was there but I needed to remove it.

Disclosure: I'm working on Neo4jMapper which uses ServiceStack.Text to read data from Neo4j using their low-level driver and convert to POCOs. However due to the nature of graph databases, the data structures are complex, and the return types have nested dictionaries.
