Help improve Wikipedia's portal system!

In the wave of portal-mania that followed WP:ENDPORTALS, several portals were improperly converted to lower quality automated portals. While many of the conversions improved the portal, some introduced problems, and we need your help to get the latter portals back to the best they can be.

1. Find the last version of the portal before the namespace-wide overhaul.
2. Compare it to the current version of the portal and note any missing or lower quality sections.
3. If the only problem is some sections are lower quality (typically the "selected picture" section), try copy-pasting the section's code from the old version of the portal.
4. If there are larger issues (i.e. some sections are missing, or are broken in the new version and can't be easily copied from the old version), and reverting would solve these issues without creating new ones, create a diff between the current version and the last good version, and use Twinkle to restore the old version.
   • If you don't have Twinkle, get it. You won't regret it.
5. If you are having trouble repairing portals, post a message on WikiProject Portals' talk page.

• If reverting to an earlier version, please check if that version has its own substantial problems – further editing may be required beyond the revert itself. For examples, article blurbs that are either so out of date, or otherwise problematic (e.g. not NPOV), that they are effectively content forks.
• Formatting or Lua errors can sometimes be easily fixed – such issues can be reported at WT:WPPORT/D (especially if that's all that's wrong with the portal).
• Some of the new portal templates allow for manual selection of content – if you want, you can try using {{Transclude lead excerpt }} or {{Transclude random excerpt }} for article excerpts (with appropriate values for the optional parameters), and {{Random slideshow }} for images

Below is the contents of WP:FPO; though inactive, this page can help you find the portals that are most likely to have lost content during the overhaul.
