List of lengths

[edit ]

The list { l 1 , l 2 , ... } {\displaystyle \{\ell _{1},\ell _{2},\ldots \}} {\displaystyle \{\ell _{1},\ell _{2},\ldots \}} seems to use set notation, but the example { 1 3 , 1 9 , 1 9 , ... } {\displaystyle \{{\frac {1}{3}},{\frac {1}{9}},{\frac {1}{9}},\ldots \}} {\displaystyle \{{\frac {1}{3}},{\frac {1}{9}},{\frac {1}{9}},\ldots \}} includes a repetition l 2 = l 3 {\displaystyle \ell _{2}=\ell _{3}} {\displaystyle \ell _{2}=\ell _{3}} in the list. The source "Riemann Zeroes and Phase Transitions via the Spectral Operator on Fractal Strings" uses curly braces but describes the lengths as forming a sequence, in which case would it be more appropriate to use a sequence of lengths?
