Another request: please add 'NRTL' - Navio da República Timor-Leste ("Ship of the Republic of East Timor") to the list.

Thanks again, Bahnfrend (talk) 06:08, 25 October 2018 (UTC) [reply ]

Which is it? 'NRTL' or 'NTRL' (see Timor Leste Defence Force#Fleet). I didn't find any ship articles so it seems to me that this request is premature.
Trappist the monk (talk) 08:58, 25 October 2018 (UTC) [reply ]
It's "NRTL" - equivalent to "NRP" (Navio da República Portuguesa), which is already in the list. I've just fixed the errors on the page you linked to. Bahnfrend (talk) 09:31, 25 October 2018 (UTC) [reply ]
There are already two articles, East Timorese patrol boat Atauro and East Timorese patrol boat Oecusse. I have held off on renaming these articles until the request has been processed. Further articles can then also be created by translating de:NRTL Betano (P212) and de:NRTL Jaco (P211) (and also articles from scratch about East Timor's three other patrol boats). Please add "landing ship" to ship_type_list so the title in Chinese landing ship Haiyang Shan can be italicized. Mys_721tx (talk) 19:43, 13 January 2019 (UTC) [reply ]

Done have I done that correctly? (Next time, please use sandbox, thank you.) — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 07:44, 22 May 2019 (UTC) [reply ]
Sorry for the late reply. Thank you, it was done correctly. I'll remember to use the sandbox from next time. —Gazoth (talk) 15:04, 31 May 2019 (UTC) [reply ]

Revival of 28 October 2018 request

[edit ]

I have now moved the two existing articles to NRTL Oecusse (P101) and NRTL Atauro (P102), respectively. The equivalent German Wikipedia articles already bore those names. Please now act on the request. Bahnfrend (talk) 07:00, 23 December 2020 (UTC) [reply ]

Module listing linked pages as transcluded?

[edit ]

I've spotted today that if one of the ship prefix templates is used, then the database thinks the linked page is being transcluded. Normally not a very significant issue, but if one of them is used on the main page, it can mean the linked article is suddenly fully-protected (because transcluded items on the main page are all cascade-protected) - potentially this would affect any other ship linked from that page, and so on. All a bit unexpected!

I've flagged this on VPT at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Cascading protection bug with link-formatting templates as it might potentially be an issue with other such templates, but wanted to note it here as well in case anyone knows exactly why it's doing this. For future reference, fixed in this edit - thanks @Trappist the monk Andrew Gray (talk) 10:22, 4 October 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

Expensive function calls

[edit ]

It looks like the last edit to this module led to the 319 articles with script errors. An example is USS Achelous. The last navbox at the bottom ({{MARCOM ships Dravo Corporation, Pittsburgh Shipyard }}) shows "Lua error: too many expensive function calls" when expanded. Previewing that article using the 20 June 2025 version of the module shows no errors. What causes every page in the navbox to appear under "Templates used in this preview"?
