Avoid using Currentyear
[edit ]If I've understood WP:RELTIME and Template:As of correctly (and the general need for people to write specifically in an encyclopedia) then it seems like a whole lot of the usage of {{currentyear }} in mainspace is incorrect and editors need to be warned to avoid using them these variables. This documentation seems like a good start as it explains how to use it as a substitution template, but maybe this documentation needs to also explain why they probably shouldn't be using the {{currentyear }} at all and should probably be using {{As of }} with specific values instead. -- 109.76.133.221 (talk) 13:48, 28 December 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
