This feature is well established and works across many devices and browser versions. It’s been available across browsers since April 2018.
Secure context: This feature is available only in secure contexts (HTTPS), in some or all supporting browsers.
Note: This feature is available in Web Workers.
The installing read-only property of the
ServiceWorkerRegistration interface returns a service worker whose
ServiceWorker.state is installing. This property is
initially set to null.
Value
A ServiceWorker object, if it is currently in an installing
state.
