Mimi IS gorgeous! Congratulations on your new family member. For me, making a year long goal doesn't seem feasible so I try to do realistic time frames. My goal is a dry January not just from booze, but from food that doesn't fuel me the way it should. I am also focusing less on stepping and more on muscle, flexibility and activities that are more fun so I don't get tired and bored. Zumba and water aerobics is my new found joy. ... View more

hey there @ssrivastava . you want to make sure you have a nutritionally rich diet. the composition of protein, carb, etc is specific to what your goals are and your overall health. for example if you have to watch your sugar, you want less carbs. if you have anything related to kidneys you may want to do less protein. if you are really just looking to maximize your body's output through good nutrition then eat your colors in fruit and veg, eat good carbs but allow yourself to stray once in a while to have a happy soul, eat lean meats and fish and stick with good fats. here is a link to an article that I think is helpful and doesn't make you click through 50 items to get to the point.. https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/healthy-diet ... hey there @Oceangirl334 welcome to the community. As Seb pointed out, the best way to lose weight is to manage your calories along with increasing your activity. the old adage of eat less, move more is for sure the best advice for losing weight. as one who has dogs as well, I know they will love going on walks with you. Just make sure it is safe weather for your pups and get those steps in 🙂 ... View more

I charge my fitbit when I am in the shower almost daily. There is no need for me to wear it in there so it is a great time to give it a boost. I very seldom let it run down past 20% if for some reason I am not charging it often. As far as the other question there is an option to wear it on your ankle or you can invest in the inspire model that can be worn as a wristless tracker although the pain in the butt set up would be involved for each time you swap out. ... in addition to what Julia mentioned, when you hold on it changes your HR because you are not working as hard, so your HR may be dropping while you are measuring it on the treadmill. When I started my weight loss journey 8 years ago, I didn't log anything. I just knew what I needed to eat to lose weight. Then for awhile I logged it and it was added steps to document what I already knew was happening- but sometimes we need to see it "in writing" to know its true. If you feel meh about it- stop. there is no point doing something that feels more like a penalty than a good thing. Skip it and see what happens. If you start to eat more because you don't see it in writing, go back to logging. if nothing changes and you feel better about things- skip the logging forever. I still weigh some of my food even now, but I haven't logged in years. When I gain- I know exactly how and when it happened - there is no mystery. ... View more
Hey there and welcome to the community. I do think you are overthinking it. You know what your daily intake should be. Don't worry about the graph or the time of day. Eat what you have as your planned meals. When they are planned. Don't "catch" up on calories because all of a sudden you are under. Eat to what your ideal is everyday and track to make sure you don't go over at the end of the day- not while the day is in progress. If you are losing- cheers to your progress! if you are gaining- make adjustments.. ... View more

Fitbit tracks the calories you enter as intake and also tracks your calories burned so it fluctuates through the day. When I was losing weight, I kept it all manual. I calculated how many calories per day I would eat. I weighed my food for every meal and I went above the recommended calories burned to give myself a buffer. but like someone said here, if you are staying the same, make adjustments. If you are gaining, make adjustments. If you are losing- celebrate your success and keep doing what you do. ... View more

Hey there. A low RHR isn't a problem unless you feel poorly while your HR is that low. Mine is in the low 50s and it used to be the upper 40s. I am cardio healthy, I just celebrated my 52nd birthday and anytime this is discussed at my appointments, I get a high five. The problem would be if your RHR was high.. that's when you want to hit the panic button. Enjoy your fitness and don't stress your HR into high numbers! ... View more

I don't track my fluid intake because I have a liquid routine I follow everyday that ensures I get all my liquids in, but I would think anything with caffeine should probably not be added since it negates the hydration. Not that you shouldn't have it, but I wouldn't count it towards rebuilding cells since it doesn't. ... View more

I literally shop the perimeter unless it is to get tuna or hot sauce. I love hot sauce in everything. they are calorie free, come in a ton of flavors and heat levels and stimulate digestion. in the morning I use Franks hot sauce on my egg whites. For lunch I make a dressing for my salad with a habanero one and for dinner I use red pepper flakes and buffalo seasoning. Oh and I found a new bread I love. it is 647 bread. 40 calories a slice and it is a generous slice. I have that in the morning with the egg whites and fruit. yum. ... View more

hey there..and welcome to the community @Lightupvm . maybe try different challenges. I think there is a bingo one that has different tasks besides steps. Hey there. I don't think it is a "problem" of any sort at all. It is a good thing. You have a healthy heart due to the work you put in. I like to see my active minutes up there too, but I think that is more a wrong story problem I tell myself and you seem to be telling yourself too. Change your mindset to marvel at how efficient your heart is and give yourself a pat on the back for getting it there. Fitbit is just part of the story, don't make it the whole story 🙂 ... View more

I agree with everyone else that your description of tightness in the chest should be discussed with your doctor. Without that, I would say it was a fluke and you could probably ignore it. @Sunnylane A break is a good idea for sure. I also think recalculating how many daily calories to go for is a good idea. When you start losing weight after the first 10 pounds it is a good idea to recalibrate how many calories you may need per day. Your metabolism may be changing with the food changes and if you are doing any kind of activity. Sometimes planning slightly lower per day intake at least until you notice a change may not hurt. I don't mean hundreds of calories.. maybe 25 or so less per day. Also, if you aren't measuring your food, you may be eating more than you think which is hurting your deficit... all kinds of things to try 🙂 ... View more
