A very interesting experience, where we taught Octohats, in the Science Room of a former palace (now the Giglio Bagnari Gallery).

As we do not speak any Italian the workshop wasconducted via a simultaneous translator.

A small workshop in a community centre, with a Spinners and Weavers group.

In the past few years, we have

• run workshops making mathematical hats at the Genova Festival della Scienza
• helped MathsYear2000 bring Maths to the general public in shopping centres, football grounds and schools
• run workshops for general craft groups and more specialised yarn users groups in various parts of the world
• run Maths and knitting sessions for groups such as the Women's Institute
• taken part in BaysDay (part of the nationwide Science Week)
• been part of Lancashire's scheme to involve parents in education
• provided In-Service training for teachers
• exhibited, and talked about, afghans, and the Maths they can generate, at Mathematics conferences
• worked with groups of 'gifted and talented' children
• been involved with special events in schools of all types
• had work exhibited at the Science Museum (London) and other prestigious venues
• addressed the National Association of Mathematics Advisers
• written for, and been written about, in various publications including a feature in Times Educational Colour Supplement
• appeared on Radio 4 programme More or Less
