Geometry

I am interested in Geometry, including finite geometric structures, like finite projective planes and finite hyperbolic planes.

Here are some very nice geometrical things.

I was very furtunate to stumble across a beautiful family of conics in the real projective plane. A technical outline of a paper called " On a Family of Conics" features a theorem about conics that I discovered using Cabri-Géomètre and Cabri Geometry II. The proof makes use of Maple, the symbolic algebra program. An earlier version of this paper, entitled Families of Conics is included as a submission to the Math Forum Also of interest is the Corner for Interactive Geometry
If you have Cabri Geometry II you can view the Families of Conics dynamically. Even if you don't have the complete version, you can get a demonstration version for two popular home computer systems:

- BURKS, Brighton University Resource Kit for Students, is a collection of excellent material for students, and is available in online and CD editions. It includes a first rate section on APL. Why doesn't every university have a collection like this for their CS students?
