Description: In this video recording, Judith Mesapo is showing how to weave traditional mats along with other two old speakers, Alice Inagele and Ellen Mwaplir. This weaving session takes place at the main speaker's house. Judith explains the weaving process and the functions of traditional mats. This types of mats (referred to as nanika in the language) are made out of sagopalm leaves and are mainly used in traditional houses. This session contains also some pictures and a short video showing the weaving technique.
Valentina Alfarano is the principal investigator of this project.
