Coverage: Solomon Islands
Date: 2018年01月07日
Description: In these video recordings, the speaker Billy Palu, his family, and some other relatives are showing the investigator how to prepare the typical breadfruit pudding, which is found elsewhere in Solomon Islands. The steps involved in the preparation are five: 1) to open and scribe coconuts, 2) to squeeze coconut milk, 3) to prepare the oven with black stones and burn breadfruits on the top, 4) to cook coconut milk with hot black stones until it becomes oily, 5) pound the burnt breadfruit in pots with coconut cream and oil, 6) to put the softened breadfruit in plates and pour some oil; 7) take a leaf and press the breadfruit's center. The text is procedural/conversation. Very spontaneous setting. The languages included are Nalögo, Pijin and English.
Valentina Alfarano is the principal investigator of this project.
