Car in Howth Harbour

At 2am this morning (Wednesday 25th) the Irish Coast Guard emergency operations centre received reports of a car entering the water at Howth Harbour.
The Irish Coast Guard unit from Howth, Howth RNLI inshore lifeboat, Gardai and Dublin Fire Brigade were tasked. Local Gardai were first on scene and located a male in the water, the Gardai successfully rescued him out of the water and brought him to safety. The casualty who had managed to get out of the car before it sunk was cold but otherwise had no serious injuries. He was treated at the scene by Fire Brigade paramedics before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital by Ambulance.

Helicopter Landing

Today the team were paged to assist R116 with a landing at Beaumont Hospital.
Team members arrived on scene as R116 was approaching. The site was quickly secured and the casualty transferred to an Ambulance. Also attending were Gardai and NAS paramedics.
Incident 10/15
The Howth Coast Guard sonar unit was tasked to Mornington Co. Meath yesterday to assist Drogheda CGU in a search for a missing person. The unit commenced sonar operations on the Boyne at 12.00 and they were completed at 16.00. With nothing to report the search by Drogheda CGU continues.
