Abstract:

Landau-Ginzburg models are a family of supersymmetric quantum field theories giving rise to a bicategory with adjoints, whose 1-morphisms are matrix factorizations. We have a very explicit description of the structure maps of this bicategory that allows direct computations. In this context, it is possible to introduce an equivalence relation between two different potentials, called `orbifold equivalence’. We will present some recent examples of orbifold equivalence, and discuss the computational challenges posed by the search of new ones. Joint work with Timo Kluck.
