THE ARTHURIAN COLLECTION
Fall
2008
Welcome back! Yes, it's
been some time since my last update. Well,
not exactly. I have been sneaking in and
out to update several pages, but without
announcing it. Especially the articles by
August Hunt have
received rseveral additions and updates (that's
the advantage of internet publishing: if
you change your views, you can alter your
articles!) in March/April and September/October.
New in the Arthurian
Collection :
One novel by Sarah Zettel
(I really must get the other two parts in
this series!) and four children's
Books, one by Philip Reeve (a
nice historian novel), two by Kevin
Crossley-Holland, and a brilliantly-illustrated
new work by John Matthews: Arthur of
Albion. I've also got the chance to
interview him (look here
for the result), plus a review
of the book here.

Almost all articles by
August Hunt were either evised or
rewritten! The main reason for this is
the publication of a book by his hand on
the Arthurian matter. Stay tuned and I'll
keep you posted when it's due to be
published.A new
article: a review of
the 'King Arthur' movie
by Graham Sumner.

Finally, it has taken me
long enough. After about 4 years after
starting this first of my websites, I
finally came to doing something about the
still disappointing layout. 'Faces of
Arthur' reflects the new integrated
concept of the Collection and Arthurian
articles. Furthermore, it also reflects
the essence of the Collection, namely
Arthur in all his different guises,
written down by as many authors.
I've
added the Arthurian
articles (mostly) by
August Hunt as a second part of this site
and intergrated the book about History of Britain,
407-597 by Fabio Barbarbieri as a
third. Both parts
provide a challenging new line of thought
towards the studies of the so-called 'Arthurian
period'.
New in the Arthurian
Collection for January:
September 2, 2002

about Arthur, as well as three new pages for the new
Late Roman version of Excalibur,
the Military Models of Arthurian
soldiers and of course the new
Monty Python Action
Figures.
New in the Arthurian

A documentary : Arthur, King of the Britons, (BBC 2002) A link here
January 2, 2002
A new chapter in the
history of this site; in its fourth
season, the Arthurian Collection has
become a full part of Vortigern Studies,
with its own Sitemap, Whatsnew, Links and Search pages.
In time, this Arthurian part of Vortigern
Studies will move away from simply being
a collection, and incorporate aritcles
about Arthurian subjects as well.
Also, I will start adding reviews of all
the books presently in the Collection.
New in the Arthurian
Collection for January:
Everything that went before can be seen at the '1999 ', the '2000 ', and the '2001 ', the pages!
