Octohats are made using Woolly Thoughts principles. They can be made in any yarn using any needles, to fit anyone, without having to take any measurements or work a tension swatch. An infinite variety of hats can be made.
Hyperbolic Hats were designed in response to the popularity of hyperbolic knitting and crochet.
Some hats fall into both categories.
Klein Bottle Hats are a mathematical curiosity.
