Meta
lobid
lobid is the North Rhine-Westphalian Library Service Center’s (hbz) Linked Open Data service. The akronym ‘lobid’ stands for “Linking Open Bibliographic Data”. The hbz supports the process of creating Linked Open Bibliographic Data out of existing libraries and other associated data.
Target is the conversion of existing open bibliographic data and associated data – especially from the hbz library network – to Linked Open Data .
Until now two services emerged in the context of lobid.org:
While the first service deals with publishing metadata about bibliographic resources as Linked Open Data, the second service provides a worldwide Linked Data based index of library institutions. Since November 2013 lobid also provides the data via an API, see http://api.lobid.org/
