John was talking about OWL ontologies where the terms are URIs and the
definitions are rdfs:comment's of these URIs that can be found by
dereferencing them.  (03)
Of course, different people may interpret those definitions differently but
there is only one definition behind the URI and the margin for interpretation
of the definition usually suits the application scope the ontology was
designed for.  (04)
