Adriaen owned D0575 now Koornmarkt 105, which abutted his father's D0573 on Pepersteeg.

He was a notary, admitted June 11, 1687, and an especially active curator at the turn of the eighteenth century.

His permission to act as a notary was suspended in February 1730 by the Delft city council for impertinence, disrespect, and disobedience. The official proceedings were so contentious that:

... while Leeuwenhoek was being held in a room in city hall, a couple of sheriffs with the city secretary went to his house where the office was broken open (he had refused to give the key) and four books and thirteen bundles of notary papers were bound together with a red band and sealed with his stamp. The stamp itself, they left behind.

(van den Burg en drs. G.J. Leeuwenhoek, my translation)

After this, Adriaen moved to Haastrecht (east of Gouda) to be with son Lambertus. He spent the rest of his life there and was buried back in Delft.
