The DietORB for the PalmPilot uses IIOP as a transport protocol. We started with the absolute minimum functionality, and then expanded very conservatively. The result is an 'ORB' that marshals the basic IDL data types, and is able to properly invoke methods on full CORBA services. The ORB is combined into library for the PalmPilot. We generally invoke methods across wireless modems, such as the Minstrel, or Metricom's Ricochet. A brief description of how to use the package is available.
