BSU and ICMA Representatives Discuss Cooperation
A meeting was held between Baku State University (BSU) and the National Business Association (ICMA) to explore prospects for cooperation in the fields of agriculture and natural sciences.
BSU was represented by Dr. Gumru Huseynova, Head of the Cell Culture and Genome Editing Laboratory at the BSU Center for Excellence in Research, Development, and Innovation, and Elvira Tehmezli, Research Fellow.
The main goal of the meeting was to integrate the university’s research potential in natural sciences and agriculture with the business sector, and to discuss joint initiatives in biotechnology and agricultural innovation.
During the discussion, the parties exchanged views on sharing university research results with businesses, developing sustainable and innovative agricultural technologies, and expanding collaboration in these areas. They also addressed opportunities to support students’ professional development and facilitate their integration into real-world production and innovation environments within the framework of the "From Education to Business: Career Paths for Students" project — a joint initiative between ICMA and Marsol Academy.
Representatives of ICMA provided information about the Association’s activities, completed projects, and future plans, noting that special attention is given to youth participation in applied projects that combine academic knowledge with entrepreneurial skills.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed a mutual interest in continuing cooperation through joint programs, seminars, and events focused on agricultural innovation, biotechnology, and the natural sciences.
