Musically Impressive
Alison Krauss has done a cover of a terrible song, and made it beautiful. Even more than writing a song, it takes a special talent to hear the possibilities when they are obscured by drek.
"Baby, Now That I've Found You" by the Foundations (a two-hit wonder - the other was "Build Me Up, Buttercup"), was a late 60's pop-sacharrine with fake doo-wop and bluesy voice to make it sound like it had a harder edge. Like if the Archies sang "We Gotta Get Outa This Place" or something.
The Alison Krauss version is beautiful.
