The United Nations Department for General Assembly and Conference Management (DGACM) in New York is the permanent Chair of IAMLADP. Topics and issues of common interest are addressed through working groups and task forces, whose findings are analysed and whose mandates are handed down at the Annual Meetings. The current structure and focus of the forum is reflected in the IAMLADP organizational chart (available in English only).
Between sessions, activities are guided and coordinated by the IAMLADP Executive Committee and the IAMLADP secretariat.
The IAMLADP Executive Committee (ExeCom) comprises the chairpersons of the working groups and representatives of the host organizations of the previous and the next years’ annual meetings. ExeCom advises on the programme of the annual meetings and attends to business between the annual meetings. It meets approximately four times a year.
The IAMLADP secretariat, which is based at United Nations Headquarters in New York, coordinates all IAMLADP-related issues with all parties concerned. The secretariat convenes the meetings of the Executive Committee, issues IAMLADP documentation and manages various aspects of the annual meetings, including registration, communications and the drafting of the work programme. In addition, the secretariat acts as site administrator for the IAMLADP Members Only site.
