FLY BY NIGHT PRESS is the publishing imprint of A Gathering of the Tribes. Between 1991 and 2019, the press released fifty-nine titles, primarily poetry by debut and emerging authors whose work might otherwise have gone unseen. Tribes Magazine, our biannual art and literary journal, expands this scope by publishing poetry, prose, and visual art, with its most recent issue, A Gathering of the Tribes: The Black Lives Matter Issue, released in 2022.

TRIBES MAGAZINE ONLINEis our online publishing platform initiated in 2016 Under the current leadership, which took over in April 2024, Tribes magazine online has primarily published poetry connected to Tribes’ workshops and poetry events.

A GATHERING OF THE TRIBES PRESENTS produces a wide range of events including readings, performances, and community gatherings, in addition to our educational workshop series, The Stoop Project. Check our calendar for past and upcoming events!

THE STOOP PROJECT Building on our founder’s ethos of "Each one, teach one," The Stoop Project workshop series expands on the original vision of The Stoop Workshop by inviting a diverse group of guest facilitators to carry forward its spirit of collective growth, experimentation, and intergenerational exchange.
