Abundant energy for an abundant future

Introducing the levitated dipole

Our approach to creating the baseload energy source of the future.

Inspired by nature

Based on the stable plasmas of Earth's magnetosphere.

Stable. Simple. Modular.

Levitated dipoles provide a fast and cost-effective approach to fusion.

For electricity production and as a neutron source

Uniquely captures early revenue, enabling commercial fusion within the next 5 years.

Meet the team making it happen

Founded in Wellington, New Zealand - OpenStar has assembled a team of the world's best and brightest to revive the levitated dipole concept. Having achieved first plasma in just two years on a tight budget, the team is eager to push fusion technology forward.
