Pennies for Power, an energy assistance program established to help disadvantaged families pay energy-related expenses, is administered by the Nebraska 2-1-1 hosted by the United Way of the Midlands who screens applicants and determines program eligibility. Contributions can be tax deductible. (Check with your tax advisor.)
LIHEAP offers financial assistance to low-income households to offset heating and cooling costs and assists with immediate home energy needs.
