Correction Bureau
The Correction Bureau is responsible for guidance and supervision for matters concerning including security, prison work, education, classification, medical treatment and hygiene to provide appropriate treatment for inmates in correctional institutions (prisons, juvenile prisons, detention houses, juvenile training schools, and juvenile classification homes), and conducts research on new treatment methods in line with recent correctional trends. In addition, training institute for correctional personnel and its branches have been established as independent organizations and conduct various training programs for correctional personnel.
The yellow C of the logo mark represents “Change (reformation and transformation)”, the red C represents “Challenge (passion for reformation)”, and the blue C represents “Cooperate (collaboration with citizens)”. The green letter S piercing through the three Cs stands for the bureau’s resolve to gain public support by contributing to society (SOCIETY)”.
