The Civil Affairs Bureau
The Civil Affairs Bureau is responsible for handling matters such as business and real property registration, family registration, nationality, deposits, notarization, judicial scriveners, surveyors and building inspectors, and the planning and drafting of civil legislation, such as the Civil Code, the Commercial Code and the Code of Civil Procedure. Eight Legal Affairs Bureaus and 42 District Legal Affairs Bureaus have been set up as local implementing agencies for handling business and real property registration, family registration, nationality, deposits, notarization, judicial scriveners, and surveyors and building inspectors.
