Layers is quickly becoming a very cool solution for anyone looking into annotations done easily and with immediate results. The UI is outstanding; in fact it's possibly too good and it makes the rest of MediaWiki look dated no matter the skin, so you will tend to stay juuust for a little while longer before returning to your usual editing chores, because just messing around with the tools available makes you feel like a little kid who just discovered crayons. On top of that the improvement rate is also worth mentioning, with bugfixes and new features implemented in a matter of hours. I sometimes struggle just to keep up with what's new in the latest version!
This is threatening with becoming MediaWiki's version of Tetris and it's already one of my favourites after toying with it a few times. Kudos, Paul! Tactica (talk) 23:46, 7 January 2026 (UTC) Reply
