There don't seem to be many, if any, substantial differences between the two templates. {{AbandonedExtension }} is not as inline with current MW/WP style and does not have any documentation, so I propose it be replaced with a redirect to {{Unmaintained extension }}. --Varnent 10:04, 3 December 2011 (UTC) Reply

@User:Shirayuki When inserted on an extension's page the template is somehow not working as expected. See Extension:ImportUsers as an example for this. A fix will be great. Thank you. --[[kgh]] (talk) 16:33, 13 January 2015 (UTC) Reply

It would be desirable that the documentation stated when to use the template. For example, right now Extension:TreeAndMenu appears to be unmaintained, but I'm not aware of any suggested checklist to follow to ensure that adding the template isn't inappropriate.
