Talk:Beta Features

I am stuck with an (in my opinion only) stupid beta feature on Simple English and the English Wikipedia, known as "Dashboard". I can't see the point of it, it contains nothing of interest to me, and yet whoever implements it at WP, has not given users an option to opt out of the beta. Every other beta test we get, we can opt out of, so why not this one, or any other? Maybe an idea would be to let a user opt-out of beta testing entirely. Thoughts? @DaneGeld: Hey there, can you link to the feature you don't like? There are five beta features live on the English Wikipedia right now (listed at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-betafeatures): Help:Paragraph-based Edit Conflict Interface, Content translation, Image Browsing (carousel), VisualEditor's Suggestion Mode, and Reading lists. All beta features are always able to be opted-out of before they graduate to full features (though that is not guaranteed for features once made generally available).

If you mean Special:PersonalDashboard, or Special:MentorDashboard, those are features that were not implemented as a beta features. You can discuss those projects at Talk:Moderator Tools/Dashboard and Talk:Growth/Mentor dashboard respectively; I don't know off-hand how to opt-out of them, sorry. Thank you for your response. I am confused, because if the Special:PersonalDashboard was not implemented as a beta feature, why then when I go to my personal dashboard, does it give me the option to "share feedback", with the beta logo right next door to it. If it's not a beta feature, why am I seeing it as one? It is misleading to show something clearly as a beta feature, and for there to be no option to withdraw from it.
