- The linked page (MediaWiki:Import-interwiki-text) does exist, it's just using the default content (via translatewiki) instead of the old locally-customized-version (which was deleted, and hence the eye-catching log-record in that page! But the content is below that).
- Also, a similar answer for the post below this. Hope that helps. Quiddity (WMF) (talk) 19:40, 21 April 2025 (UTC) Reply

I'd like to make this page more understandable, but I have some doubts.
- "Transwiki import" is said to avoid tampering, but what prevents me from exporting from e.g. enwiki, editing the XML file as I see fit and then importing to my local wiki? As I see it, only a direct transfer from one wiki to another (kinda InstantCommons style) would prevent this, eliminating the intermediate manual work.
- If I understand things right, if the Interwiki prefix is not important (e.g. if a non-WMF wiki is importing from an old server which isn't even mapped in the IW table), one could just specify "import:" here to mimic what you get from importDump.php. Is my assumption correct?
- Context is missing in the "IP edits" paragraph because I have no idea what is meant here by an "IP tag" and where is this relevant.
