Tumble is a character who first appears in Mario Party 3 . He is a "magical die" that the fake Millennium Star brings to life, replacing Toad as the guide of the game. Tumble is stout with a round head, upon which is a blue die with white pips. Because he lacks arms or legs, his head floats in the air beside and above a pair of white gloves and large red shoes.

Mario Party 3[edit ]
In addition to explaining minigames and controls and getting a Battle Royal or Duel Board started, Tumble also reveals the new location of the Millennium Star each time it is moved. He (along with the fake Millennium Star) also gives out Star Stamps whenever a player has won on a board. At the end of the game, the top of Tumble's cap opens to reveal the real Millennium Star. After the credits, a blue die resembling Tumble is shown landing near a Mario Party board game.
Mario Party Advance[edit ]
In Mario Party Advance , Tumble acts as the host of the Shroom City mode. He helps Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Yoshi by reiterating their overall objective upon request, explaining the rules (e.g., the basics of movement and the functions of spaces), announcing opportunities to earn Mushrooms from minigames, and suggesting potential locations of interest. These suggestions can be anywhere in Shroom City and are normally optional, but if no quests have been completed yet, then they are restricted to Goomba House for Mario, Mushroom Library for Luigi, Jungle Game Hut for Peach, and Boo Cemetery for Yoshi. Until the associated quest for any one of these has been completed, Tumble prevents the characters from visiting other locations.
Upon the completion of a quest in the Japanese version of the game, he informs the active character that the day's adventure is over. He then prompts them to record the events in their diary and encourages them to do well the following day.[A]
