Former markets[edit ]

Certain markets originally had official access to a variation of the Nintendo eShop at one point, but Nintendo had discontinued the service in those markets for various reasons, either for long periods of time or without any present follow-up.

In addition, several markets from Latin America and the Caribbean^{[note 3]} had limited variants of the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, all of which shut down on July 31, 2020.

The Nintendo eShop will also close in China on March 31, 2026.^[3]
