Start of Power Generation at Otake Geothermal Power Station -Trial Operation of Power Generation from September 1, 2020-
The renovation of the Otake geothermal power plant (rated power output 14,500kW) started in April 2018 and today, Kyushu Electric Power Company started its trial operations.
During this trial operation Kyushu Electric Power Company will conduct safety inspections, equipment adjustment and performance test according to the regulations before the plant is commercially commissioned in October 2020.
By carrying out the renovation works at an adjacent area of the existing power plant while this plant was in operation, Kyushu Electric Power Company managed to shorten the on-generation period of the facilities.
To respond to the global warming and effectively using domestic resource, Kyushu Electric Power Company will continue to proactively develop and introduce renewable energy.
