Emergency Assistance to Viet Nam in Response to the Typhoon

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the damages caused by Typhoon YAGI, upon the request from the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
1. Disaster situation
Typhoon "YAGI", which landed around on September 7th, has been causing serious human and property damage. According to the Government of Viet Nam, the damage situation as of September 10th was as follows:
Deaths 58
Missing 40
Injured 743
Evacuees 143,087
Affected households 63,619

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Singapore)
Plastic sheets
Water purifiers

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Singapore to Hanoi on the next available flight.
