At a time when geopolitical tensions continue to rise, Ireland needs friends. With Brexit, the UK went through a conscious uncoupling with the EU, but the British-Irish relationship is now firmly back on the agenda.
The first of an annual UK-Irish summit will take place today, when leaders and ministers on both sides will gather to talk business, climate and trade.
