Monaco 2 is not a pure stealth game... expect to aggro enemies! The trick to playing Monaco well is "riding the wave" of enemy aggression. Can you sneak past the guards before you take damage? That depends on a few factors:

Player Speed: Guards will notice you MUCH faster if you run fast! Sneak or stand still and they will barely notice you at all.

Peripheral Vision: Stay out of their direct line of sight and they will notice you more slowly.

Lights out: Find a lightswitch and you’ll be near invisible!

Noise: Guards can hear you if you are running quickly, even if they aren’t facing you. Sneak when you need to be close to them.

Escaping from Guards

If and when guards do start chasing you there are a ton of ways to escape!

Bank 2 Corners: Guards will always run to the last place they saw you and then turn to look in the direction you were moving. If you make it to a place the guard can’t see you, make sure you find an additional door or corner to hide behind before the guard makes it to the first location.

Find a hiding spot: There are lots of places to hide in the environment: plants, dumpsters, vents, checkpoints and more are scattered around and offer you a foolproof way to escape from pursuers. Grab a disguise: The moment you are disguised, the guards will give up. It’s best to slowly walk out of view though so they don’t see through your disguise immediately!

Weapons and Abilities: The Brute and The Socialite have abilities that can deal with aggressive guards. Smoke Bombs give you an instant escape. Or pick up a gun to take them out.
