Dragon Age: Inquisition (Originally Dragon Age III: Inquisition) was announced by Mark Darrah on the official BioWare blog on 2012 September 17 [1]. Dragon Age: Inquisition is built on a new RPG engine using DICE's Frostbite 3 technology as a foundation.

Inquisition's play space is significantly larger than the area players traversed in Dragon Age: Origins. Biomes are vast and divergent, including waterways, forests, mountains, and deserts. Weather effects and storms swirl in the skies overhead, and dangerous wild beasts roam the land.
