Collateral Damage Walkthrough
You helped Maleficent rescue her raven in "The Corvid Companion" and witnessed the feud between her and Hades reignite in "Rekindling the Fire." Now, in Maleficent's Level 7 Friendship Quest, "Collateral Damage," the two villains' fight is affecting the rest of the Storybook Vale, and it's up to you to stop it!
Help Remy
Unlike most other Quests, this one does not start by talking to any Villager. Instead, pick up this Quest by going to your Mailbox and reading the letter inside.
The letter is from Remy , who tells you that Hades and Maleficent's fight has affected his House! Go inside Remy's House to find it filled with blue and green flames. Using your Royal Watering Can, remove all six flames. Then, talk to Remy, who explains that Hades and Maleficent started fighting while he was giving Hades a cooking demonstration.
Give Gifts To Hades And Maleficent
Talk to the Lorekeeper, who suggests a bit of trickery: giving Hades and Maleficent gifts and saying they are from the other. For Hades, she suggests finding Cerberus's missing Chew Toy, and, for Maleficent, some Feather Balm for her raven.
Cook Up Some Feather Balm
To make a Feather Balm, you will need the following:
- 1 x Cape Gooseberry - picked in the Bind
- 1 x Extra Salty Salt Crystal - given by the Lorekeeper
- 1 x Green Beans - grown from seeds purchased at Goofy's Stall in Everafter
- 1 x Olive - picked from trees in all areas of Mythopia
- 1 x Trumpet Snail - foraged in the Bind
Once you have gathered these ingredients, cook a Feather Balm at any Cooking Station.
Fish Up Cerberus's Chew Toy
The Lorekeeper mentions that Hades lost Cerberus's chew toy in a pond in Mount Olympus . The pond in question is in the top right corner of Mount Olympus, north of the bridge leading to the Statue's Shadow. The Chew Toy can be found by fishing in gold bubbles in the area.
Give Hades the Chew Toy. Then, give Maleficent the Feather Balm. Both characters are suspicious, but ultimately agree to meet up at your House to discuss an end to the fight.
Craft A Bonfire Pit
Enter your House, where both Hades and Maleficent will be waiting. Talk to them, and they quickly figure out that you are the one who organized the gifts. Rather than ending the fight, this makes the two of them angrier than ever!
Talk to Merida, who has plenty of experience helping the feuding Scottish clans get along. She points out that both Hades and Maleficent love fire, so she suggests that you craft a Bonfire Pit for them to enjoy together.
Gather the following ingredients:
- Coal Ore x 15 - mined from Rock Spots in any Biome
- Gold Ingot x 3 - One Gold Ingot is crafted from five Gold Nuggets and one Coal Ore. It may also be sold at Kristoff's Stall or dropped when feeding Ravens Liked foods.
- Marble x 10 - mined from Rock Spots in Mythopia, dropped when breaking Hunks of Marble in Mythopia
- Stone x 50 - mined from Rock Spots in any Biome. It may also be sold at Kristoff's Stall
After gathering the ingredients, craft the Bonfire Pit at any Crafting Station, such as the one just outside your House in Storybook Vale.
Head inside Maleficent's Castle in the Beanstalk Marshes . It turns out that Hades is there too - and they actually seem to be getting along! Eavesdrop on their conversation, where the two talk about potentially working together.
Talk to Maleficent, who reveals that she and Hades have indeed found something to bond over. Two things, in fact - their plans are always getting thwarted by heroes, and their annoyance at you!
The two villains imbue the Bonfire Pit with some of their magic and give it back to you. Place it anywhere in the Bind, then take a photo of Hades and Maleficent enjoying the new addition.
Finally, talk to the Lorekeeper.She is happy that Hades and Maleficent are getting along, although she also warns you to keep an eye out for any plots the two of them might be cooking up!
