Flux Walkthrough
Citizen Sleeper's First DLC, Flux will see you aiding a group of refugees as they head towards Erlin's Eye, along with several new characters and locations along the way. This DLC is intended for late-game; as such, it's better to wait until you are preparing to finish the game completely before you start. The best time is when you've finished the Maywick section, since it is the last plot-critical quest. You'll have roughly 12 in-game days to get the best possible outcome, and you'll need to use all of your dice on various clocks as the time gradually run out. If you've not yet started Flux, take some time to earn eight pieces of scrap electronics to save yourself the headache later.
How to Start the Flux DLC
Flux will start automatically when you reach the Greenway. Pay the 150 cryo toll and cross the Founder's Gap, and you will run directly into its main characters, Eshe and Peake. They'll explain that the other refugees have been quarantined in ships outside of the eye, running dangerously low on supplies. You can find them again in the Wastes, further beyond the Greenway, provided you bring them mushrooms. This means you'll have to complete a sizable portion of the Emphis Questline to get started, so now is a good time to finish it if you haven't.
Two Girolle Caps will suffice as a peace offering and continue the story, but it will also begin the twelve-day countdown. With her demands met, Eshe will further explain that the refugees only have about twelve cycles before they run out of supplies entirely. You have two primary objectives from this point forward; collecting supplies like food and water, and getting Eshe's ship ready to deliver them.
How to Find Food and Water for Eshe
To find food, first head to the Algae Stack, near your mushroom garden. Fill the Algae Access clock there, and you'll be able to harvest algae that can be used at food. You'll gain one chance at harvesting a day, but if you spend your dice, you can instead harvest up to three times in one cycle.
Water will be a bit more stressful, as you'll have to steal it directly under Haven's nose, though you can reduce the alert level to give you extra time. Select Reservoir S3, also near your mushroom garden, and Siphon Water to slowly fill the 'Water for the Flotilla' clock.
Finally, you'll need eight scrap electronics to help maintain the ships, which you can obtain in a multitude of ways. If you took our advice and chose the Engineer as your starting class, you'll periodically obtain scrap from completing Engineer actions. If not, you can either forage for it in the Wastes or buy it from visiting Scrap Freighters.
How to Get Past Security
Beyond the wastes, you'll find Peake waiting for you after a day or two. Actually getting Eshe past the cordon and back again will be much more difficult; first, there is the Cordon Intel clock, and then three more clocks after that for finding a blind spot, getting a crew to help you, and upgrading her ship. If you receive negative outcomes and need to decrease the Havenage Suspicion clock, you can do so by Deflecting Suspicion in the Canteen.
If you don't figure out a way past security, Eshe's Run will end before it starts, so helping Peake takes priority as soon as you can. All three tasks share the Suspicion clock from earlier, so keep that in mind. Near the end of your twelve-day limit, you'll be called to the Cordon by Helene, a councilor for Havenage. She'll make it very clear that she would prefer if you didn't do this, but that choice is still ultimately up to you, as you'll discuss it with Eshe and Peake soon after.
After twelve cycles, Eshe will attempt her run, regardless of how much progress you've made. For it to work successfully, you'll have to complete everything up to this point; Get all of the supplies, upgrade the ship, and help Peake bypass security. If you've done so, Eshe will successfully deliver the supplies you've gathered to the flotilla, leaving you with one more cutscene back at the Briar before the DLC will be complete.
