Summary
For the third GBA entry in the series, Nintendo has kept some of the features from GP Legend and removed others. License tests and vehicle edit are gone, but the influence of the cartoon is still apparent, as Ryu once again joins Captain Falcon on the raceway. Story mode is back in spirit via Climax's survival mode. The survival mode is set up as a series of missions similar to the racing segments of GP Legend's story mode, but minus the dialogue sequences and branching paths. In addition to straight-forward races, missions ask that you perform training-style tasks, such as weaving through through complicated tracks, accelerating faster than an opponent, avoiding obstacles and so forth. The game also features a Grand Prix mode with three difficulty settings and four different racing tournaments. Each tournament has you race between five and eight races in an attempt to come out on top of twenty-four opponents.
