Troop trips offer enriching opportunities for members to venture beyond our council area, encouraging personal growth and skill development. These trips serve as educational platforms where Girl Scouts can enhance essential life skills such as planning, budgeting, adaptability, teamwork, and mutual respect. Whether exploring nearby or embarking on more distant adventures, troop trips provide invaluable learning opportunities and unforgettable memories for participants.
Council approval is necessary to ensure the safety and appropriateness of troop trips. Troop trip proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria: Leader Training, safety measures, budgeting and financial responsibilities, and compliance with Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma policies and guidelines. Below are the outlined due dates, required forms, and criteria for obtaining council approval.
Due Date: 1 Month Before Trip
Due Date: 3 Months Before Trip
Due Date: Intent to Travel due 6 months before the trip.
Due Date: Intent to Travel due 12 months before the trip.
Upon submission of the required documentation, troop trip proposals will undergo review by the council to assess compliance with approval criteria. Approved trips will receive authorization from the council to proceed as planned. Trips of 3 nights or more will have other forms due before the trip that are sent out with approval to continue planning.
