1981 Formation of new JV company Rank Phicom Video Group by amalgamating the video communications division with part of Rank. Owned 14 percent of TSW-Television South West Holdings.
- Instruments Division included Shandon Southern Products Ltd which had acquired Lerner Laboratories Inc. Closed some of Townson and Mercer's branches. Magnetic Components Ltd.
- Electronic Enclosures Division included Imhof-Bedco Standard Products and Imhof-Bedco Special Products and Imhof-Bedco Precision Engineers and Skinners (Electro-Plate).
- Data Communications Division included Trend Communications
1982 Bryans Southern Instruments was sold to Gould Electronic Holdings
1988 Renamed Life Sciences International plc
