1978 Queen's Award for Export Achievement awarded to Magnetic Components Ltd. of Penryn. Jeffrey Park, managing director.[2]

1978 The development of audio recording using ... in Penryn near Falmouth Cornwall in February 1978 having a manufacturing area of 1000 square metres. Some 50 people are employed there specialising in the production of ferrite ceramic and glass components used in advanced design magnetic heads.</ref>Hounslow & Chiswick Informer 11 October 1979</ref>

1980 A subsidiary of Phicom; it was the largest employer in Falmouth[3] . Manufacture of cassette recording equipment was scrapped at the Magnetic Components Ltd factory at Penryn in Cornwall[4]
