Though some documents found note that Coleman J. "Dock" Davis and Elmira Adaline Beck were "married", other note they were never married (see below):

According to the Guion Miller applications, Coleman J. Davis and Elmina Adaline Beck were never married, but they had two children: Jeffrey B. Beck and Martin V. Beck.

Coleman Davis was of mixed blooded Cherokee and never acknowledged these two sons. He was already married to another woman at the time, Eliza Huff.

From additional testimony taken in this case by H.W. Ketron under a commission, it is clear that Coleman J. Davis was the father of Martin V. Beck and Jeff Beck and that said Becks and their descendants are entitled to enrollment.
