Mary Ann was born in Kentucky. She was listed as the wife of James Walker in 1865 in Doniphan County, Kansas. This family was listed in Reeder Township, Anderson County, Kansas in 1870 & 1875. James Walker was also born in Kentucky about 1817.

Their sons and daughters in 1865 were listed as Sophia, age 16, born in Missouri; Luella, 10 MO; Lamont, 7 MO; Tulula, 5 MO; Ellen, 4 MO; & James, 2 KS. The 1875 Anderson County state census also lists Dorah, age 10; Estella, 8; & Charley, 6.

James Walker, the husband and father, died sometime after the 1875 census and before 3 Sep 1878, when Mary Ann Walker remarried to James Aldridge. (Anderson County, Kansas marriage index) The burial location of James Walker is unknown, but he was probably buried in Anderson County, Kansas.
