The latest update for Dying Light: The Beast introduces a massive range of new features, including the highly requested New Game+ mode, along with significant refinements and gameplay improvements that change the overall experience. Let’s break it down.

The New Game+ mode lets players replay the story while keeping everything earned from their first playthrough — equipment, weapons, and character progression. The difficulty increases, but so does the quality of loot. Each new run becomes more challenging, offering more powerful weapons and tougher enemies as rewards.

Expanded Endgame Progression and Technical Enhancements

Alongside this, the update adds Legend Levels, an endgame progression system that unlocks once players reach level 15. From that point on, all earned experience turns into Legend XP, which grows faster with higher difficulty or advanced New Game+ tiers. Leveling up grants passive boosts such as more health, better combat stats, a stronger Beast Mode, and other rewards — including 22 new weapons, two full outfits, and new vehicle skins.

On the technical side, the update introduces ray tracing, which drastically improves reflections, lighting, and shadows, making the atmosphere more realistic. The option works best with the Ultra preset but can be adjusted for a balance between quality and performance. Players with VRR monitors will enjoy smoother gameplay, while those experiencing input lag can turn off V-Sync or Frame Generation for better responsiveness.

To make combat even more brutal, three new finisher moves have been added — one for each weapon category — expanding ways to take down enemies. The update also launches a new community event, Call of the Beast, which focuses on using these finishers. The community’s goal is to perform millions of finishers to unlock two special rewards for all participants. The event lasts one week, and rewards will be sent directly to players’ stashes once it ends.
