An important part of El Paso Electric’s mission is to provide safe and clean energy to the communities we serve. To accomplish this, we’ve made a commitment to generating more of our energy through renewable sources, and we’re pleased to say we’ve reached some important milestones in this undertaking.

El Paso Electric is the first utility in Texas and New Mexico to completely eliminate coal generation from its portfolio, and we’ve launched a major initiative to generate more electricity using solar technology. This section is filled with information on these initiatives and contains details about the many renewable projects that we’re currently managing.

Solar Energy

Community Solar

Community Solar is a new way to purchase solar power and supplement your energy needs. Our solar facilities are located throughout the region and production is shared with other El Paso Electric customers. Learn more about Community Solar here.

Distributed Generation

The EPE Renewable Energy Interconnection program allows customers that have a renewable system installed at their home or business to interconnect with EPE’s grid. This can reduce energy consumption and help the environment. Click here to review program details.
