The Collections Ticker is a thumbnail viewer that provides access to the David Rumsey Map Collection via the LUNA Browser. Thumbnails and short descriptions (mouse over images to read) of maps, charts, globes, and other items move automatically across your desktop (similar to a news or stock ticker). Clicking on an image opens a larger view within the LUNA Browser.

"Knowing what to search for" is a common barrier to accessing materials in large collections. With over 97,000 maps currently in the online collection, the Collections Ticker provides an alternative to structured searching. You can launch and run the ticker at the bottom of your screen and click on interesting thumbnails or descriptions as they appear. The thumbnails and descriptions are drawn directly from the collection database.
